Vizor Team takes on the Runamuck Challenge in aid of Special Olympics

On March 9th, a group of 15 Vizor staff members will bravely take on the Runamuck Challenge, a five-kilometre mud run in Naas, Co. Kildare. This is the latest in a series of fundraising events by the company in aid of the Support an Athlete 2019 campaign.

As you can see, this challenge is not for the faint-hearted as our team will endure a myriad of obstacles such as net scrambles, mud slides, bogs and freezing waters over the 5km course. It will require communication, team work and perseverance to make sure that everybody makes it to the finish line. Our team is training hard(ish) and looking forward to a fun day out in support of this great cause.

Vizor’s fundraising campaign began in October with a Halloween themed event at the company’s head office in Dublin. Shortly afterwards, many Vizor employees agreed to have a donation deducted from their monthly salary, and in December a pool tournament was organised with all participants donating their entry fee.

The 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games take place in Abu Dhabi, March 14th to the 21st. 7,000 Special Olympics athletes from 170 nations will compete at these Games which are expected to attract over 500,000 spectators.
