Vizor Software to Present at the Third Asia Finance Forum

Vizor, the world leader in supervisory software for financial supervisors today announced that Vizor’s Chief Innovation Officer, Joanne Horgan, will be a featured speaker and panelist at the 3rd Asia Finance Forum on November 7, 2019 in Manila, Philipines. This event, which is focused on “The Future of Inclusive Finance” is organised by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The Third Finance Forum will envision the future of inclusive finance by discussing how new technologies like artificial intelligence, big data, and blockchain, the rapid expansion of mobile payments and digital banking, are helping to bring financial services to unbanked communities. During the event, participants will have the opportunity to gather insights from fintech experts, public and private stakeholders; network with peers in the finance sector and learn new approaches in bridging the gap to the underserved at the base of the pyramid.

Session: SupTech and RegTech: Creating more transparent, tech and data-driven approaches for Supervisors and Regulators

In a digital age, can regulators move fast enough to avoid the creation of technology enabled monopolies by first movers? Technology may not only prove to be an enabler but could be incredibly disruptive. What if advances in technology (e.g. quantum computing) create an unfair advantage for individual players? Could this cause significant disruptions to global financial markets? Could it lead to the emergence of a new financial crisis?

Joanne will share her insights on these issues using real world examples from Vizor’s extensive experience providing enterprise-class software for the increasingly demanding regulatory sector.

Joanne Horgan has over 15 years’ experience in customer-facing roles, engaging extensively in the public sector with regulatory and supervisory authorities. Having joined Vizor in 2003, Ms. Horgan has designed and delivered regulatory solutions for some of the world’s top financial regulators, working with more than 20 central banks and financial regulators worldwide. Joanne’s entrepreneurial mindset and a demonstrated ability to collaboratively innovate saw her appointed as Chief Innovation Officer in 2018, with overall responsibility for managing Vizor’s product portfolio.
