Exchange of Information Owners Gather in Dublin For AEOI Workshop

From May 20th to May 21st, representatives from tax authorities around the world came together in Dublin, Ireland for Vizor Software’s AEOI Workshop. Held at Vizor’s headquarters, the event provided a unique opportunity for delegates to participate in interactive sessions that addressed the challenges, best practices and AEOI requirements and hear how peer organisations are solving their toughest information sharing challenges.

On Monday, May 20th, Conor Crowley, Vizor’s CEO, welcomed delegates, presented a company update and introduced guest speaker Andrew Strachan, Inspector Compliance Commission, Ministry of Finance, The Bahamas. Mr. Strachan provided the opening presentation on the AEOI Experience from the Tax Authority Perspective.

The afternoon presentation, “Future International Tax Exchange Trends & Developments was delivered by Vizor’s AEOI Business Development Manager, Mary O’Leary. She reviewed potential future mechanism for exchange of beneficial ownership, the AEOI peer review process and the economic substance requirements.

The remainder of the first day was devoted to customer workshops led by Ms. O’Leary and Vizor AEOI product related topics presented by Product Owner, Jordan Thompson. The second day of the workshop focused on training and support needs with presentations led by the Vizor Customer Success Manager, Ana Maria Balanescu.

Feedback from participants was very positive. 100% of attendees stated they would not only attend future Vizor hosted workshops but they would actively encourage their colleagues to attend. The opportunity to meet and have face to face discussions with colleagues from other jurisdictions was cited as the most valuable part of the conference.
